South Wales Wedding Photography & Film
Natural photographs and honest wedding films for couples who want to enjoy every minute, not spend the day performing for cameras.
Your day should feel like your day
Photography holds on to how everything looked. Film brings back the movement, voices and atmosphere. Together, they tell the complete story without turning your wedding into a production.
As a South Wales wedding photographer, my approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-led. I photograph the real moments while Gareth quietly captures the film. We give a little direction when it helps, keep family photographs organised and usually complete couple portraits in around 10–15 minutes. Then you are back with the people you invited.
Watch Sophie & Cellan’s one-minute trailer
This one-minute trailer gives you a quick feel for the movement, laughter and atmosphere Gareth captures alongside my photography. Your complete Photography + Film collection also includes a cinematic 6–8 minute highlight film, plus your ceremony and speeches in full.
Gareth filmed this short trailer alongside my photography, showing how naturally the two sides of the coverage work together. No repeated moments and no long staged production.

Meet Gareth Rees, your wedding filmmaker
I photograph the story while Gareth captures the movement, voices and atmosphere that bring it back to life.
Gareth and I work together regularly and share the same calm, documentary approach. We plan around one timeline, communicate throughout the wedding and know when to step forward or let a moment breathe. You will not have two separate teams competing for your attention.
He works quietly alongside me from the preparations into the evening, recording the ceremony, speeches, laughter and reactions you may not notice on the day. The result is photography and film that feel like two parts of the same honest story.
Carl photographs the story
From preparations and the ceremony to quick family groups, relaxed portraits, speeches, the first dance and all the moments between them.

We plan around the same documentary approach, keep portraits efficient and make the coverage feel like one complete story rather than two disconnected services.

Why book wedding photography and film together?
Booking one established team means your photographer and filmmaker are working towards the same story. Carl and Gareth agree the timeline, positions and short portrait session before the wedding, so you are not being directed twice or asked to repeat genuine moments.
Photography gives you individual moments to print, frame and return to. Film brings back voices, movement and the atmosphere of the ceremony, speeches and dance floor. Together they preserve parts of the day that one format alone cannot.
- One conversation about the timeline and priorities
- A shared relaxed, documentary approach
- No competing camera teams or duplicated portrait sessions
- Consistent coverage from preparations into the evening
- Clear £2,500 collection price with the included films listed above

South Wales Wedding Photography + Film FAQs
Do the photographer and videographer work separately?
We have separate roles but work as one team. Carl concentrates on photography while Gareth captures film. We coordinate the timeline and portraits so you are not pulled in two directions.
Will we have to repeat moments for the film?
No. Our documentary approach means we capture real moments as they happen. We may offer a little direction during the short portrait session, but we will not turn the day into a film set.
How long will couple portraits take?
Usually around 10–15 minutes, with the option of another brief session near sunset if the light is right. This gives you beautiful photographs and film without missing your own party.
Can we book photography without film?
Yes. Full-day wedding photography is £1,500. The Photography + Film collection is £2,500, and you can compare both options on the wedding photography prices page.
What films are included?
The Complete Collection includes a cinematic 6–8 minute highlight film, the full ceremony and speeches films with audio, plus a one-minute trailer delivered within one week.
How do we secure our wedding date?
Your date is secured after the agreement has been signed and the £200 booking fee has been paid. Everything can be completed online.
