How To Choose Your Wedding Album
As a South Wales wedding photographer, I feel that the perfect way to memorialise your day is to purchase a wedding album that is specially created to hold all of your cherished memories. Wedding albums can be customised to your exact specifications and, in most cases, only take a few weeks to make once the pictures have been submitted.
My name is Carl Woodward and I love to create the perfect wedding albums that represent the love you share for one another. I’m a firm believer that your wedding albums should be just as unique as you are. I can help you choose the perfect photos for your albums or guide you through the many different choices.
Number and Type of Photos
One of the first decisions to be made is how many photos you want to include in your album. I recommend a balanced blending of candids, group photos, bride/groom prep, the ceremony, the first dance, and other special moments.
Scatter in a few black and whites and sepia tones to attract a bit of attention. Every wedding day is full of precious moments. Choosing the photos for your album may be difficult, but once it is completed you will be able to enjoy them for many years to come.
Size of the Album 25”x25” or 30”x 30” or another size
Albums can be small and quaint or large enough to fit multiple images on a single page. Most couples choose a larger album for themselves and smaller albums for their parents and the bridal party. A smaller album is normally sufficient for the bridal party or special guests.
When it’s your special day, however, you may want to include as many albums as you can. You can choose different wedding albums for different people on your list.
Types of Wedding Album
A traditional flat album with printed images on each page or a photo album with photos placed on the pages is both popular choices. The type of wedding album you choose is completely up to you. Rest assured, you have many different options to choose from.
If you want a “book-style” album then having the pictures printed on the pages and then bound together is your best choice. For those who are more into the”scrapbook-style”, then attaching an actual photo to each page will give you the look you want.
Personalisation Is a Common Request
Wedding albums are unique to the couple. Many newlyweds choose to have their names and the date of their wedding stamped on the outside of their album. They may also opt to have the sections of the album labelled, such as “Prep”, “Ceremony” “1st dance”, “Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dance”.
Wedding albums can be made in a conventional colour using leather or the album may have a cloth cover utilising the wedding colours. It is completely up to you.
Duplicate Wedding Albums for Parents
Something that couples have been doing to show gratitude to their parents is to buy them duplicate albums. These albums can contain almost any collection of shots you choose. Bridal couples may include pictures of their first date or some other memorable event that they would like to share with their parents. Many choose an engagement photo or one that includes the parents in some way. By producing duplicate albums, both parents get exactly the same photos, so there is no mixup on who gets what images.
Small Wedding Albums for the Bridal Party
Small albums that contain images of the bride and groom, bridesmaids, and groomsmen, the parents, and any other members of the wedding party are often given to members of the wedding party as a way of saying “thank you” for everything they have done to make your day so beautiful and memorable. Small albums will also make ideal gifts for grandparents who may not be able to handle a larger photo album. Choose an album that is uniquely designed for them.
