I have photographed several very different weddings at Llechwen Hall. That experience means I know how the rustic ceremony room, terrace, countryside lanes, valley views and evening spaces work throughout a real wedding day.

Different backgrounds without travelling away
The ceremony room
The stone walls, timber beams and gallery give ceremonies character. I can cover both the couple and guests’ reactions without interrupting the atmosphere.
The valley and lanes
Open views, quiet lanes and fields create a strong sense of place. We only need a short walk and around 10 to 15 minutes for relaxed couple portraits.
The terrace and hotel
The terrace works well for efficient family groups and confetti. The hotel exterior and sheltered areas give us useful alternatives when conditions change.

Real moments in a room full of character
The ceremony room feels intimate even before guests fill it. I photograph the entrance, vows, reactions, first kiss and register naturally, then organise confetti outside where there is room for everyone to take part.

It’s a wedding, not a photoshoot
How portraits work at Llechwen Hall
I normally take couples away for around 10 to 15 minutes. We walk, talk and use the best nearby light rather than working through a long list of poses.
If the valley light becomes particularly good later, we can step outside for another five minutes. That gives variety without losing the drinks reception or evening party.
Weather planning
What happens if it rains?
Llechwen Hall gives us indoor rooms, the ceremony space, hotel interiors and sheltered doorways to work with. I watch the weather rather than allowing it to control the timetable.
If a short break appears, we can use it quickly for portraits or groups. If it stays wet, the priority remains genuine moments and a relaxed day. Rain never means standing around for hours waiting for a photograph.

Making the day flow naturally
Keep family groups focused
Choose the combinations that genuinely matter. I organise them efficiently on the terrace or nearby grounds so everyone can return to the reception.
Leave breathing room
A relaxed drinks reception gives you time to speak to guests while we fit photographs around the day, rather than turning the afternoon into a schedule.
Use the evening
The festoon lights, reception spaces and open views can produce a final photograph with a completely different atmosphere from the daytime portraits.

How long do couple photographs take?
Normally around 10 to 15 minutes, with an optional five-minute session later if the light is especially good.
Do you photograph family groups?
Yes. We agree the important groups beforehand and organise them efficiently so guests are not waiting around.
Can we book photography and film?
Yes. Full-day Photography is £1,500 and Photography + Film is £2,500. I photograph while Gareth is dedicated to filming.

Relaxed coverage from preparations to the evening
Full-day Wedding Photography is £1,500. Photography + Film is £2,500, with separate people covering each role so neither part of the story is compromised.
